Course Details

Available Training Sessions:

05/11/2026
10:00 am - 2:30 pm Port Macquarie

This practical, interactive workshop supports caseworkers to strengthen their understanding of case planning within the Permanency Support Program (PSP), with a particular focus on family preservation and restoration.

The training explores the purpose of case planning, the legislative and policy requirements that guide practice, and how to develop meaningful, goal focused plans that support the safety and wellbeing of children while working alongside families to achieve lasting change.

Participants will explore the difference between OOHC Case Plans and Family Action Plans (FAPs), including when each plan is required, how to develop achievable goals, and how to monitor progress and review plans in partnership with children, parents, carers, family and support networks.

The workshop also highlights the importance of relationship-based practice, family-led decision making and culturally safe approaches, including keeping Aboriginal children connected to their family, culture, community and Country.
